Funding Guidelines
The Priority Trust gives physically disabled children and young people the independence and confidence to play a more fulfilling role in society and achieve their potential.
We do this by actively developing partnerships with recognised leaders in the field and funding the provision of mobility equipment to make a simple and effective intervention
The Trust aims to have a significant and effective impact by:
- Working in partnership with the leading providers of mobility equipment
- Funding a defined need which can have immediate impact and measurable outcomes
- Ensuring the efficient use of funds, with the whole grant being spent on mobility equipment
- Sharing the real life experiences of disabled people, to inform and create opportunity
- Monitoring the impact of all funding and improving the way we work
As an organisation, to work with us we ask that you:
- Are efficiently run and can demonstrate financial strength
- Have an established process for assessing the mobility needs of physically disabled children and providing the correct equipment
- Are able to report accurately and regularly on the impact of funding
- Can demonstrate a continuing commitment to supporting greater independence for physically disabled young people
- Are willing to work in partnership
Priority will provide funding where:
- The mobility equipment is for children and young people up to age 25
- The child’s needs have been assessed by an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist
- Specific equipment has been recommended, supporting the child’s everyday needs, enabling them to play a full role in society
- All the funds allocated will be spent immediately on the equipment
- The impact of all funding is reported and case studies are provided
Priority will not fund:
- Individuals directly
- The direct replacement of statutory funding
- Support services or core costs
